Dubai is very different from all the other major cities I have visited. The first impressions (apart from the heat) were the fourteen-lane Highway surrounded by incredible skyscrapers. Later I could see that there seems to be a lack of natural green areas. No wonder since it is a desert climate throughout the United Arab Emirates. This palm tree stood between a parking lot and the highway. It looked like it was longing to a more humid place.
